  • Predicting the Flash Floods after the Extreme Drought Periods Using HEC-HMS in the Semi-Arid Region, Head Water Watershed in San Bernardino Mountains, CA

Findings: Volume did not increase after the extreme drought and more.

  • The volume of flow did not increase after the extreme
  • The predictions using HEC-HMS after the extreme drought can perform at a similar level as the ‘normal’ season.
  • HEC-HMS yields high statistical values with the flows more significant than 0.8 cfs for peak discharge.
  • Land cover changes and soil condition changes due to wildfire have a more significant effect on flash floods than extreme drought.

Modular construction

  • The project for this modular construction involves the development of single room residential housing.
  • This project is based on Modular construction using LEED strategies to achieve a sustainable design that can provide environmental and economic benefits.
  • I am proposing the Modular Construction phase of this development.

Findings:

  • Based on my analysis of the modular home, the total credits that it would receive are 46 credits.
  • That would make it a LEED-certified home.
  • Four more sections may still be evaluated for potential loans to increase the LEED certification.
  • However, these articles were not taken into consideration.

 A case study on Design of Cost-Effective Low Volume Roads with Cement Treated Surfaces-Major Project

  • Collaborated with a team of 4 others to design a road that is cost-effective and durable.
  • For achieving this objective, we have attempted to incorporate certain innovative materials, such as Cement Treated surfaces (CTS) using waste cement bag fibers, into the pavement design.
  • The design methodologies of cement/fly ash stabilized subbase, and the emulsion of stabilized granular subbase is well developed, and guidelines were also published for the design methodology.
  • The present research work is aimed to fill in this gap by conducting the required dissertation work on cement-treated surfaces within Indian guidelines.
